8 Tips To Control Snacking

Adequate Sleeping – To avoid eating between meals, it is essential to take a minimum of 9 hours for complete rejuvenation of health system which further prevents urge to eat between meals.

Herbal Drinks – Increased intake of herbal beverages or teas during a day greatly contributes in fulfilling body’s daily requirement of nutrients and prevents feelings of restlessness, cravings etc.  A glass of water can also be taken whenever a strong libido develops.

Mental Diversion – whenever a snacking libido arises, indulge yourself in activities that require a lot of concentration to divert the mind away from food. Sitting idle should be avoided as it results in uncontrollable snacking desire. Avoid watching Television as the tempting commercials would encourage your hunger.

Schedule – Several studies have confirmed that improper lifestyle and dietary habits are directly associated with elevation of snacking desires in a person. It is recommended to consult a dietician for the preparation of a diet schedule in accordance with RDI. In addition, avoid consumption of unhealthy foods like junk food, aerated sodas and fried foods should be avoided. It is advisable for persons with increased snacking desires to strictly follow a diet schedule intended for when to eat what to eat.

Chewing Gums – Sugar free chewing gums should be kept handy to control the urge of snacking. Always read labels prior to procuring chewing gums as the preservative levels and sugar contents may vary from brand to brand basis.

Exercises – A person experiencing increased snacking libido should perform light breathing and relaxing exercises like yoga, meditation etc for relaxation of tensed nerves and uplift psychological state of mind. Performing simple deep inhalation and exhalation exercise for a minimum of 5 minutes whenever desire for snacking crops up helps in suppression of desire.

Obesity – increased obesity also triggers the snacking libido, so participating in a number of weight loss programs also help in getting rid from snacking habits.

Smart Eating – In case, if a person encounters with unavoidable situations like severe restlessness then opting for natural shakes, fresh citrus or ripe fruits and raw vegetable salads comprising corns, broccoli, spinach, tomatoes, jalapenos etc are optimum solutions to provide body with instantaneous energy and on same time it provides body with nutritional value.
