Ayurvedic Home Remedies

Ayurveda is an ancient form of medicine that was practiced in India many centuries ago. The system of ayurveda advocated the use of simple natural herbs and foods in curing ailments in the body. Cures were simple and effective.
Not only did Ayurveda ensure that any medication taken had no side effects, but the remedies all being natural, improved the overall well-being of the individual as well. Ayurveda became, not merely a cure for the ailment, but was one of the most wholesome forms of treatment. Ayurveda continues to be praticed even today. Here are some ayurvedis home remedies for ailments we commonly face.
SUNSTROKE
Make the person lie down straight. Place some onions on the forehead. Raw mango juice should be given along with sugar and salt. This should be given twice or thrice daily for a few days after the stroke as well.
Making the patient smell onions is another god way of reviving from sunstroke.
Give plenty of liquids as they will help speed recovery.
Place an ice pack on the forehead for some time. Administering an ice pack every few minutes is useful.
NOSE BLEEDS
A bandage dipped in ice water should be applied on the nose and forehead immediately to stop bleeding nose.
Intake of sweetened and crushed rose petals is a good cure. This should be taken twice daily.
VOMITING
Too much food, acidity and pregnancy are the most common causes of vomiting. Liquid extracts of fennel and mint, about two teaspoons combined, should be taken twice daily.
Peppermint, clove and thymal should be mixed and kept in the mouth to ease the uneasiness immediately.
Chewing cloves is especially useful while traveling.
If you have bouts of vomiting during pregnancy, take a decoction of the powder of corriander leaves, fennel seeds and cardamom boiled in water. Filter, cool and add sugar to this. Taken twice a day, it helps greatly.
Ginger boiled in water and filtered with a dash of lime and some sugar added helps.
Coming closer to nature is the best recourse to good health. It is what we are all made up of, afterall.
