Beating Lapses in Your Diet
It may be hard sticking to your diet at all times. Some occasion, a festival, or your own temptation may just get the better of you. Lapses in diets are common. Once you have let go of a diet, getting back on track is very difficult. Most people abandon their diets altogether, while some try alternate diets believing that their previous one was not meant for them. There can be easy ways to get back in the groove once you have let go of your diet.
Cut out excess salt. Try minimising on its intake as much as possible. This is not only better fo your overall health, but will make a noticeable change in your weight almost instantly. Salts tend to aid water retention in the body, and cause it to appear more bloated. The more salt you take, the more is the craving for sweetened subtances, adding to your problem.
It may be time to assess where you are now, and at what stage of your ultimate goal you have reached. This is a good moment to take a step back and make a neutral analysis of where you are headed. If you have been doing well so far, this will only motivate you to get back with renewed vigour, or else you may just find that you need to rework your diet plan to suit you better.
Include some small foods that you enjoy. This will give you something to look forward to and act as a useful bait. This often works as a reward mechanism and proves useful in achieving longer goals. You could try varying rewarding foods and switch around your diet foods in the time and quantities that you eat them. This will also give you a break from monotony, and give your diet more success.
