Beauty Product Woes

December 10, 2008

Buying cosmetics may be rather exciting, but could be a little heavy on the pocket. At most times, we are unwilling to settle for anything but the best, and yet we yearn for a whole array of different products. After a few uses, we tend to get bogged down by the monotony of using the same products over and over, and the purchase cycle begins all over again.

Very often, we find ourselves throwing away cosmetics that have been sparingly used, and feel the pinch rather piercingly. How, then can we try and avoid wasting good money and products doing them both justice?

There are simple ways that you can work to keep your peace and the pleasure of good looks. The pointers and fairly simlpe.

Use small sizes. Just because the largest variant has the biggest discount does not mean thats the one you need to buy. Rather than throwing away products that have expired, use just the right amount and feel fresh and good about yourself. This also gives you the chance of trying a new product or variety the next time, as opposed to tying yourself down to a years supply of something you haven’t liked.

Try and find other uses to products you are bored with. For instance, the blush that you think you have used enough might be a good shade to give your eyes as a base. Let your own creativity take over, and give your cosmetics new life. Try using lip pencils around the eyes, for instance.

Sales aren’t always the place to buy your cosmetics, especially if you are not the most vigilant. Often, sales are times when shops like to dispose off their stocks that are nearing expiry. So try and watch for the dates and lives of the product, or you may be spending large amounts on a product you cannot use more than once.
