November 14, 2008

We take excessive interest and care of our skin and body while we are young. There is also much greater focus and awareness about care for the skin for the youth. The irony is that the skin becomes mroe demanding as we age, and the attention is needs is much greater.

Care for the skin as we age is a must. Not only to keep it looking younger, but also in maintaining its health. Simple skin care and routines are sufficient in keeping the skin well cared for always.

Every morning, drink a glass of warm water mixed with the juice of a lemon and honey. This might strike you as a tonic for the body, but is also finds use for th face. Stomach conditions have a tendency to show on the face very easily. Especially constipation and collection of fat. This drink is great in flushing out toxins and keeping the skin healthy.

Every fifteen days, use a heavy moisturising cream and massage the face using circular movements well. This will improve blood circulation and also stimulate activity.

Take a steam for the face as often as you can. This will help open the pores and also keep them clean. Steaming also helps improve dry skin, often accelerated as we age.

Take the yolk of two eggs and mix half a teaspoon of honey and apply to the face. Keep this on for about twenty minutes before washing. This helps firm the skin.

Those with darker complexions can try this remedy. Take the juice of lemon and cucumber and apply daily on the face. Keep this on for about half an hour before you step in for a bath.

Make a mixture using some fresh cream, gram flour and turmeric. Use this every morning to keep the skin fresh and soft.

Eat plenty of fruits and easily digestible vegetables to nourish the skin and also facilitate motions. This will help keep the skin clear.

Sunblock is a must while going out. Never leave home before you have protected your skin.

If you have too many wrinkles, try using some scotch tape on them. Leave it on for a while before you remove. This is a quick fix for when you have to leave in a hurry.

There is often the growth of unwanted facial hair as we age. Electrolysis is a good method to treat it.
