February 1, 2010

Berries are good for the health. They derive their beneficial properties largely from their antioxidant reserves. Blueberry is a member of the common berry family, which is a source of several nutrients.

Studies have shown that drinking blueberry juice daily could significantly reduce age related memory loss. Anthocyanins found in blueberries could improve transmission of brain signals associated with memory. This phytonutrient could even eliminate excess glucose from the brain. The cognitive function of aged people showed a marked improvement from consumption of blueberry juice. Drinking two and a half cups of blueberry juice for about three months could reverse signs of memory loss and cognitive decline.
