Body Jitters
We all get fevers at some time. Caused by a number of factors, it can be treated easily provided there is not some trouble lurking beneath. The common causes for routine fevers are fatigue, slowed functioning of the body, and climatic changes. Here are some simple cures for fever.
Boil 30 grams of tamarind pulp in half a litre of water along with some dates, cloves, sugar, cardamom and some camphor. This should be taken in small doses every few hours to help bring the fever down.
Drink plenty of water and fluids. This will not help bring the fever down, but will also compensate for loss of body fluids, which worsen the fever and make the body weaker.
Take complete rest. Make sure you cover yourself with blankets to give the body warmth. Avoid sudden changes in temperature and also avoid straining yourself.
Eat light foods. Liquid diets are best. Otherwise, opt for boiled vegetables, steamted food, soups, and yogurt. Fruits and juices are also good foods to select.
Take cool baths. This will help relax the body, soothe body pains and also bring the fever down.
Boil the powder of 2 to 3 teaspoons of of fenugreek leaves. Strain the water and to this add a little ghee. This can be drunk to arrest the fever immediately.
Juice made from basil leaves should be drunk upto three or four times a day to help reduce fever.
Crush a little ginger and some raisins. Boil them in water till it reduces to one fourth the original volume. Strain the liquid and drink it while it is warm.
Warmth and tender care are the best cure along with simple home remedies. Give yourself more love and see your fever vanish altogether.
