Boost Energy With Homemade Energy Drinks

August 17, 2009

Our markets are flooded with energy drinks. It is believed that these beverages act as stimulants, instantly boosting our energy. However, the ingredients found in most energy drinks can be harmful for you in the long run. Most of these energy drinks are laden with sugar and caffeine.

It has been observed that prolonged consumption of commercial energy drinks could increase blood pressure level. They may increase irritation, causing restlessness, seizure and chest pain and increasing the risk of heart attack and sudden cardiac death.

The excess sugar content of these beverages triggers weight gain. Energy drink intake is sometimes responsible for dehydration.
