Brain Fog Natural Cures

October 1, 2009

People irrespective of their age or gender might suffer from temporary decline in cognitive function. Brain fog is a common form of cognitive dysfunction that tends to cause mental confusion, lack of mental clarity and dizziness or mental fuzziness.

Brain fog badly affects your concentration. Children suffering from brain fog might find it difficult to concentrate on their studies. Adults experiencing brain fog will find it difficult to do their regular activities. Driving or doing activities with heavy machineries could be hazardous for people experiencing brain fog.

Brain fog causes

Physical and emotional problems are usually associated with brain fog. Stress and fatigue could cause brain fog. Trauma, chronic anxiety and insomnia could also trigger this problem. Sometimes presence of parasites in the brain can cause brain fog.

Deficiency of certain nutrients could be responsible for this condition. Vitamin B complex, calcium, magnesium, chromium, selenium, iodine and zinc are some nutrients needed for promoting cognitive functions. Lack of one or more of these nutrients could cloud memory causing brain fog. Allergens and certain food additives can trigger brain fog.

Nutrasweet, monosodium glutamate, caffeine, fungus, metal toxicity, residues of fluoride, chlorine and pesticides in water and soil can cause this debilitating condition. People allergic to gluten can develop brain fog from foods such as wheat, rye, oat and barley that contain gluten.

Brain fog can also occur from milk and soy allergies. Sugar is the most important fuel for the brain. Hypoglycemia or excess decline in the blood sugar level could lead to brain fog.

Brain fog remedies

Brain fog could be combated with changes in your diet and lifestyle. To prevent brain fog you should learn the skills to overcome stress. You can reduce stress through meditation, physical workouts and other activities that help to lift your mood.

Always ensure a good night’s sleep. Try to get about eight hours of sound sleep every day. Nutritious diet packed with essential vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates and fats will provide nutrition to your brain.

Stay away from allergens, pollutants and toxins. Engage yourself in learning activities to sustain the cognitive functions of your brain.
