Care for Dandruff

November 25, 2008

Dandruff is very common among most people. It can be caused due to hereditary factors, stress and tension, from climatic changes, and also lapses in hygiene. There are many simple ways to check dandruff.

Make sure you use a comb with blunt edged teeth. Combs should be washed every time the hair is washed, and care should be taken to ensure that combs are not shared. Do not use other’s pillows and towels. Regular hygiene is very important.

Simple products like a lemon, henna powder, raw rice and curd can help cure dandruff quickly.

Oil the hair well and take a few drops of lemon and a little henna powder and powder of raw rice. Mix these well and apply on the scalp. Using the finger tips, massage the scalp well for about fifteen minutes, and leave in the hair for about twenty minutes.

Make a paste of henna powder, raw rice powder, curd and lemon juice. Mix these very well and use in the hair as a pack. Apply generously to the roots and rest of the hair and leave in the hair until it has dried completely. This should take about half an hour. Once this is done, wash the hair out thoroughly using mild shampoo and conditioner. Dry the hair well once washed, preferably cold dry it.

To keep the hair clean, use this routine once every three or four days for four weeks. This will help greatly.
Use a mild baby shampoo every day for a week and dandruff should be cured. This is useful for dry dandruff. For oily dandruff, use a wide toothed, blunt comb to remove dandruff and wash out well.

The best is to prevent the occurence of dandruff. If you have dandruff, care for it immediately to check its spread.
