Care for the Hands
We all believe that care for the skin is a way to keep it beautiful. There can be no doubt that this is the truth, but beauty is not the only reason to care for the skin. Care for the skin is also another way of keeping diseases and infections away. That should be the primary rider to keeping the skin cared for.
The hands are most susceptible to picking up infections. Contact with dirty objects, other people that carry infections and also decaying matter are all made through the hands first. Infections creep in to the body very easily. Care for the hands by keeping them clean and hygienic is of utmost importance.
Washing the hands is not only about wetting them in water and getting away with it. That alone is not enough at most times. Careful washing of the hands is very important.
Use lots of running water to wash the hands and then make liberal use of a liquid soap or hand wash. Lather well by rubbing the hands together. Make sure you reach all surfaces, including edges, fingers, nails, wrists, and even between the fingers. Rinse the soap out of the hands well.
Drying the hands is equally important since many infections can also be contracted afterwards due to wet hands. Dust and dirt can also catch faster. Make sure you use a tissue or napkin to turn off the faucet once you have washed your hands.
Sanitizers are also available in the market today. They are easy to carry and use, and are sometimes more effective than mere water. They can make a good substitute to washing with water when you are on the move. Sanitizers that have alcohol content are best since they vapourise easily and the trouble of having the hands is cared for, while germs and bacteria are killed instantly.
