Care for Treated Hair

December 4, 2008

With the approach of festive seasons and many parties and gatherings round the cornier, it is most common to try and make the most of pampering the body and hair. In our attempt at making the hair look better, we often subject it to various treatments and harsh chemicals.

While this may just make you look a little more dressed for the occasion, the results may spell irrepairable damage. At the end of all the celebrations, we find ourselves saddled with dull, lifeless and worse for wear. There are simple ways in which you can help protect the hair and save it from permanent damage.

Oil the hair well and give it a good massage. Make it a practice to leave the oil in for a few hours and then wash it out well before you go out. This will help protect the hair which has the tendency to pick up dirt and dust from the surroundings.

Make sure you choose a good shampoo that suits your hair type. Occasionally, it may be a good idea to use an anti-dandruff shampoo on the hair to remove any flakes. Avoid excessive use of these products, though.

Avoid eating too much fat. Have as much of natural foods as you can, and stay away from the processed variety. eating right is just as important for the hair as any other routine. It will help nourish the hair, and also repair damaged hair well.

Hair can sometimes dry due to climatic conditions. It is important to use oil in such cases. Try and use an oil that will match and undo damage done by the climate. Usage of the right variety of oils is also very necessary in giving hair the right kind of treatment it needs.

Hair can be nourished and strengthened easily. Oil the hair well and massage with the finger tips. Use a steamed towel over the head for at least half an hour to help condition it and give it a good shine. Leave the oil in the hair overnight and wash out only the next morning.
