Causes And Treatment For Infertility

The infertility is referred to a medical condition in which a female fails to achieve state of pregnancy post a year of sexual intercourse. In accordance with findings of a global survey it is revealed that 1 out of 6 couples suffer from infertility.

Causes of Infertility

In most cases, infertility is caused by leading a inadequate sexual life or improper lifestyle habits. The most common cause for development of infertility is extensive usage of sexual lubricants which usually confines the life of sperm.

Additional causes for development of infertility may comprise intense alcoholism, uncontrolled intake of tobacco, consumption of prohibited drugs, anorexia, excessive dieting, and psychological disturbances like anxiety, stress, depression etc.

In females, infertility occurs due to hormonal deficiencies, ailments & disorders of reproductive organs, improper surgeries, and severe ailments like fibroids, impaired immune system, sexual transmitted diseases, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, and pelvic inflammatory disease, which is medically acknowledged as one of the most common cause for development of infertility in females.

This ailment occurs due to an infection of pelvis which further spreads to other reproductive organs like ovaries, fallopian tube, cervix etc. In males, the state of infertility occurs owing to the development of certain disorders and ailments like undeveloped testes, swelling of vein in scrotum, gonorrhea, elongated diabetes, or injuries of spine.

Infertility Treatment

In last few years, the medical treatment for infertility has altered considerably following the introduction of in-vitro fertilization or IVF based reproduction methods. The procedure of IVF entails the fertilization of sperm eggs remotely from a female’s body.

The consequential fertilized zygote is nurtured for a number of days and then placed in uterus. According to WHO, records indicate that since introduction of IVF technique, the amount of reported cases for infertility had decreased considerably.

Before introduction of IVF technique, the treatment for infertility was confined to merely treating hormonal disorders, repairing of fallopian tubes or donation of healthy sperm. Along with allopathic treatment, there are a number of herbs like, ginseng, red clover, raspberry etc that on regular consumption endows with tremendous and exceptional results.

It is recommended to consult an accredited medical practitioner or a naturopathist prior to opting for any sort of treatment as causes of infertility may vary from person to person.
