Then you need to meet your doctor and in almost 40 percent of the cases infertility is due to male factor. The fertility of a male is examined by semen analysis. Only the quality sperms can make a woman pregnant. Along with quality semen quantity is also important.

Causes of Male Infertility

Low Sperm Count

The most outstanding cause for male infertility is low sperm count. Usually there will be around 35 million to 200 million sperm in a milliliter of semen and some men may have a less number than this. It may not affect their health but it will be difficult for them to make a woman pregnant.

Blocked Sperm Duct

Any block in the vas deference and sperm duct may prevent the sperm from getting in to the vagina. These blocks can be the result of any injury, infection, congenital defects etc.

Abnormal Sperm

Certain men have abnormally shaped sperm and this sperm can’t enter in to an egg and fertilize it. Some others have normal shape to their sperm but these sperms won’t move fast and thus it will be difficult for the sperm to reach up to the egg.

Varicocele

This is a condition in which varicose vein arise around the vas deference and testicles. This in turn increases the blood flow towards this region and thus raises the temperature. Increased temperature may affect the sperm count and mobility.

Failure to Ejaculate

In certain cases the men won’t be able to ejaculate semen in to vagina and instead the semen will ejaculate backward and it will move in to the bladder. This condition is called retrograde ejaculation.

Cryptorchism

This is a condition in which the testicles will remain with in the body and do not descent to the scrotum. Internal body has high temperature when compared to the external scrotum and this impaired the mobility of the sperm and its potential to fertilize an egg.

Fluid accumulation around the testicles may also contribute to infertility. If you are not able to make your wife pregnant even after trying for a year then it will be better to check ups with your doctor. Your doctor may help you to get out of these problems.
