Choose the Colour ‘Green’
We all love colours in our lives but when it comes to choosing colours while eating, most of us tend to avoid the colour ‘Green’. We always try and forget the goodness of all the green vegetables provided to us by Nature. The result is lack of vital vitamins and minerals form the body.

Greens include a wide variety of vegetables like spinach, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, mustard greens, beet greens, turnip greens, Swiss chard, kale, and a huge variety of gourds. They can be used to prepare a large number of dishes which not only look exotic but also taste wonderful.

Greens are rich sources of Vitamin A, C and K:
Vitamin A and C reduce the risk of cancer. Vitamin K regulates blood clotting, protects bones and prevents diabetes.
Greens are rich sources of a number of minerals like iron, magnesium, calcium and fibre
Calcium helps to protect bones and strengthens them and magnesium helps to increase the power f the brain cells to remember things. So it is best for students who have to remember huge piles of their studies. Magnesium also prevents the occurrence of Alzheimer’s disease.
Greens are low in calories
They make very good food for the figure conscious people. They are also good appetizers and so are very good for growing children.
Greens are good sources of sulphur
Cabbage and broccoli are very good sources of sulphur and its compounds. This helps increase the immunity of the body and also strengthens one’s vision.
Greens promote growth of hair
Mustard Green and Turnip green along with spinach are very helpful for those who love long beautiful hair as these promote hair growth.
Greens promote formation of haemoglobin
Spinach is also a rich source of iron and helps in the formation of haemoglobin. So it is an ideal food for the anemic.
A little green can do wonders. Adding greens to your meals adds more colour to your face. They provide a glow to the skin as they help in formation of haemoglobin and also regulate the flow of blood. No wonder green stands for Life itself!
