Cleaning Up

November 5, 2008

How often do we find people unhappy with the colour of their skin. We all long to have fair, flawless skin for as long as we are wheatish. For the fairer skin types, there is always the desire to look dusky and we find these people running to the beach for a tan.

While we may fight to look fairer, we forget the ravages the skin is faced with on a daily basis. Dust, pollution and heat all helps contribute to the darkening of the skin. The sun is another great contributor to skin darkening. While the early morning sun is most beneficial as it provides huge amounts of vitamin D which is vital for the skin, undue exposure to harsh sunlight can deal to its downfall.

Causes of skin darkening are pigment in the skin called melanin. While this pigment is afected, darkening begins to occur.

To fight darkening of the skin, use products that are citric in nature on the skin. Lemon, orange, tomatoes and their types help bleach the skin and thereby reduce its darkness. Also try and use a lot of fresh, cold water to splash the water as often as possible.

Another way to lightent the skin is to use serums on the skin. This helps correct the melanin on the skin and make it appear lighter.

The best way to clear the skin out of darkkening is to ensure you use adequate sun protection when you step out. During the summer it may be worthwhile to use it even when at home. Rays and sunlight penetrate all over and can have an impact even while indoors.

Protect the skin well and you will see that you have no problem with your skin. Caring for it afterwards may be more difficult. Beat the heat and you can keep skin darkening away.
