Combating Weight Gain

November 17, 2008

Holiday seasons bring great cheer all around. Its a time where spirits are high, and sheer indulgence is the rule. During these times, keeping fit is a trouble since sweets and delicacies are a regular feature of every meal. Often, the same way of dealing wit over indulgence does not work for everyone. Here are some different ways that you can work around the calories you are piling on by attacking your favourite foods. See which one works for you best.

Focus on weights, and target the abdominal areas to keep the body toned and restore shape to the body. This way you don’t need to fear increasing your body weight every time you even look at something sweet.

While some people recommend working out overtime, others simply advise that you allow yourself your favourite foods, but simply restrict its intake and compensate by eating less overall. That should help balance out.

If you are the kind who just cannnot get to the gym, try other routines like brisk walking and see how that works for you. Another option is to try and work around your routine by taking the stairs, or walk instead of driving around.

Detox diets are something that few like to try out. It involves long periods of fasting to try and undo the damage done by extra calories. This is an unwise move since the body is losing essential minerals and nutrition along with the calories. These lost vitamins and minerals can later translate into deficiencies, weakness and also dehydration. Try losing the weight without starving the body.

See what fits your routine and your temperament. You might like to try any of these, or maybe even a combination for better results. The method you use is not of much consequence, as long as the end of losing weight is achieved.
