Cough Remedies
Cough is actually a reflex reaction produced by the body in response to the stimulation of the sensory nerves present in the breathing tube’s lining. If there is mucous or foreign body with in the respiratory tract or lungs then your body starts to cough. Cough is of two types wet cough which is associated with mucous and dry cough that has no mucous.
Cough can be due to the inflammation of the pharynx or larynx, allergies due to smoke , dust, pollen, chemicals etc. Sometimes changes in climatic condition, asthma, smoking etc may also leads to cough. Here are some treatment methods that helps you to ward off the cough.
Remedies for Cough
Lemon
Take a lemon and cut it in to half. Fill one half with powdered black pepper and salt. Suck this lemon frequently to avoid coughing.
Turmeric
Roast the roots of turmeric and grind it in to powdered form. Take two grams of powdered turmeric at least twice in day and this will subside your cough.
Almonds
Get seven kernels of almond and immerse it in water for the entire night. Next day morning remove the brown skin and grind it in to a paste form. Then mix twenty grams each of sugar and butter to this paste and combine them well. Now take this mixture in the morning and evening.
Onion
Extract juice from freshly chopped onion and take two teaspoon of onion juice. Then mix it with two teaspoon of honey and keep aside for about six hours. Take one teaspoon of this mixture daily twice. This may help you to subside the cough and also helps to clear the congestion in the chest.
Garlic
Get three cloves of garlic and boil it in a glass of milk. Drain the milk from the mixture and drink it at every night.
Grapes
Grape juice is found to be highly beneficial for treating cough. It will be an ideal expectorant that may help you to get rid of the cough and cold in two days. You can also mix one teaspoon of grape juice with one teaspoon of honey and take it as a cough relief.
Warm water enema will be useful to cure severe coughs.
