Cumin makes for a great ingredient to temper many dishes with. Cumin powder is excellent in enhancing the flavour of salted buttermilk, salads and also yogurt. Apart from its great taste, it has many medicinal properties that can also be put to good use.

Cumin is an ideal summer spice, since it has great cooling effects. It is a good digestive, and is among the first spices introduced to babies.

Cumin has a large iron content, which makes it a good cure for anemia. Iron helps in the build up of haemoglobin which helps transport oxygen.

The flu and common cold also find cures in the cumin as it helps boost the immune system. It is a good antiseptic and can give relief when boiled with ginger and honey in a cup of warm tea.

Digestion is aided, and flatulence, stomach pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting can be cured easily.
Cumin cures asthma and is also very good in arresting hair fall.

Cumin helps women too. It stimulates the menstrual cycle. Taken orally, black cumin is a natural contraceptive. It also increases the flow of breast milk in nursing mothers.

Cumin can cure skin problems like psoriasis, eczema, and also dry skin. Add ground cumin to the face pack to get rid of burn marks, wrinkles. Ground cumin seeds can be used with vinegar on the face to cure acne and boils.

Use cumin generously in your foods to make a marked difference to the body. It helps bring all problems under control, and also makes good food taste better.
