Curative Camphor

October 29, 2008

Imagine a smell so refreshing that your cavities open up to welcome it completely. A taste so enchanting that the buds tingle in response. And properties so potent that cures are almost instant. It might sound like a miracle. This one’s called camphor.

Camphor is sweet, bitter and pungent. It is cold, a good post-digestive with pungent action, and strengthens the air, water and fire elements. It is aromatic, diaphoretic and brings perspiration. It is germicidal and carminative, and tones up the heart. Indian forms of medicine find camphor in many of their cures.

Camphor is used in diseases like hysteria and cholera. It is used in combination with tonics like musk, saffron and amber. It is not a stimulant, but when used in excess can help to tone up the spinal cord and nervers.

A great remedy for colds and phlegm, camphor is used liberally to cure coughs and other related ailments. Camphor is mixed in oil and rubbed on the chest and npde to relieve blocked noses and help with undisturbed sleep.

It is used in ointments and tooth powders for its germicidal property. Throat lozenges and cough syrups also contain camphor.

Some forms of camphor can also be used in cooking. Some sweets can be made with a little camphor added for taste. Not only is a distict, refreshing flavour imparted, but the properties of camphor also enter the body directly.

Use caphor in the right forms to understand its importance as a cure for ailments. It’s true value needs to be felt to be understood.
