Natural Cure for Hypothyroids
Hypothyroidism is a glandular disorder that leads to deficiency of thyroid hormones. Thyroid gland is located just above the collar bone in the neck and it releases hormones to the blood stream. There are two types of hormones called thyroxine T4 and triiodothyronine T3. These hormones control the metabolic activities of the body.
If the hormonal level decreases then it leads to several symptoms and some of them are depression, pain in joints and muscles, constipation, low blood pressure, hair thinning, slow pulse, low body temperature, anxiety, poor memory, headaches, lightheadedness, migraines, high cholesterol, hypoglycemia, itching, unhealthy nails etc. Here are some remedies for hypothyroidism.
Remedies for Hypothyroidism
Iodine
Iodine is an element that activates the thyroid gland to produce hormones. Hence you need to include more iodine in your diet as your body gets iodine from the food you take and water you drink. In order to increase the amount of iodine you have to include yogurt, fish, meat, seafood, parsley, oatmeal, radish, bananas, potatoes etc.
Spirulina
Spirulina is herb that will help you in maintaining the secretion of thyroid gland.
Bladderwrack
This is a seaweed enriched with iodine. Bladderwrack will help you to stimulate the thyroid gland and there by help you to increase the metabolic rate.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil will act as a support to the thyroid gland and works with thyroid gland to produce a cumulative result which is greater than their individual effort.
Vitamin A
Vitamin A is found to be a good booster of thyroid gland and hence include foods that are rich in vitamin A in your diet. Take fruits that are yellow in color and also include carrots and green vegetables. Eggs are also rich in vitamin A.
Primrose Oil
Essential oil obtained from primrose is having a stimulating effect on the thyroid gland.
Food to be Avoided
If you are a hypothyroid patient then you have to avoid certain things from your life that may lower the thyroid level in your blood and they are halogen elements like chlorine, fluorine, bromine etc. certain raw cruciferous vegetables like Brussels sprout, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, turnips, soy products are also not good for hypothyroid patients. Also avoid trans fats, refined and processed foods, dairy products etc.
