Cures for Uterine Problems

December 8, 2008

The arrival of the menstrual period in a woman can sometimes be rather painful. There can be many problems like heavy bleeding, severe cramping, and also scanty and irregular periods. These are caused due to a number of factors. There are simple home cures that can care for each of these simply and effectively.

For scanty and irregular periods, have hot and cold baths alternatively. A little sunbathing is also known to help this condition. Another remedy is to crush the bark of the ashoka tree. Take this and mix with equal quantities of milk and water. Condense the liquid and drink it sweetened and strained everyday.

The juice of geen berries or embelic myrobalan can help in the case of excess bleeding. Take some pieces of the myrobalan, soak in its juice and leave to sit for about three days. Make a paste of this and have it with milk to cure excessive bleeding.

Heavy flows can also be helped using poppy seeds crushed along with shoeflower. This should be made into a powder and had twice a day for beneficial results.

Papaya is known to help regularise periods and is good for those who have irregular periods. It helps clear the flow of blood and also cleans the system well.

Some people encounter a lot of weakness and pain in the uterine region during their periods. Hot fomentation is dieal in such cases. This not only helps reduce inflammation in the uterus which is largely responsible for the cramps, but also helps regulate the flow of blood and dissolve clots. This is a problem that is found most commonly in teenagers.

During your period, make sure you have plenty of leafy fruits and vegetables, and a whole lot of fibre. Keeping the stomach clean will help you stay pain free. Also make sure you cut down the intake of artificial flours and sugars. Have plenty of fluids.
