Cures With Fruits

November 18, 2008

Juicy fruits are an extremely great way to beat the heat. They all taste great, make you feel most relaxed and refreshed, and help give renewed energy. The most popular among the juicy fruit variety are melons.

There are a large variety of melons found readily – melons, water melon, white melons, musk melons. All of them are sweet in taste, scold in action, with a sweet post digestive action. They help subside the element of fire in the body, but, taken in excess, they tend to aggravate the elements of air and water.

Melons help quench the thirst and subside burning sensations in the body. They are diuretic, nourishing and nutritious. Seeds of the melons are also useful and have found to be used as medicinal remedies.

Most melons are rich in potassium. Potassium helps in keeping blood pressure under control. It also regulates heart beat, and prevents strokes in the long run. They have a very high level of vitamin in them, which helps fight diseases by increasing antioxidants in the body. Beta carotene present in melons prevent most chronic conditions.

The best way to consume any kind of melon is by eating it when it is cut fresh. It has the maximum quantity of juice and also the benefit of fibre. The juice extracted may also be consumed. Whichever way you opt to have the melon, do not add any sugar, especially white sugar. Melons are sweet naturally and do not need sugar added. Adding sugar is equivalent to infusing poison into the melon. Eating the melon with its natural taste is the best.

Melons are not fruits recommended for those with sugar related problems. Otherwise the regular intake of melons will ensure that good health and happiness are yours. Take advantage of natures answer to good health.
