Dairy Products For Long And Healthy Life

To ensure your child’s long and healthy life, start giving him enough calcium and dairy products in his meals. A 65-year long study has suggested that to extract the maximum benefit from calcium and dairy products, one should start taking adequate calcium from childhood.

Dairy products not only increase the length of our life, but it also ensures a healthy life.

Live longer with dietary calcium intake

A person who had consumed adequate amount of calcium during childhood tends to live longer. We stay away from dairy products because of their high saturated fat content. However, researchers tracking health of over 4000 individuals from 1948 found, that the individuals who were alive in 2005 were largely the ones who consumed adequate amounts of calcium rich dairy products during childhood.

Contrary to popular belief, the 65-year long study found no link between dairy products and cardiovascular disease. However, if adults increase consumption of dairy products, they will become more vulnerable to heart diseases and stroke. Therefore, to live longer, calcium and dairy products should be part of every child’s diet.

Reduces high blood pressure

Dairy products form part of the diet recommended for people suffering from hypertension. By having three servings of milk products along with fruits and vegetables every day, the blood pressure level could be significantly reduced.

Prevents insulin resistance syndrome

Insulin resistance syndrome is characterized by high triglyceride and blood pressure levels, low level of HDL or good cholesterol and poor glucose metabolism. Insulin Resistance Syndrome increases the risk of diabetes. Consumption of dairy products could reduce the risk of developing insulin resistance syndrome.

Lowers risk of kidney stone

Although calcium is often present in kidney stones in the form of calcium oxalate, but studies have shown that risk of kidney stone rises not with increased intake of calcium, but by increase in oxalate in the body. Studies have shown that increased consumption of dairy products could prevent occurrence of kidney stones, by eliminating oxalates from the body.

Treats Premenstrual Syndrome

Studies have shown that adequate consumption of dairy products could reduce symptoms of Premenstrual Syndrome. Milk products could improve mood swings and reduce menstrual pain.

Good for oral health

We all know the calcium present in dairy products helps to build strong teeth and bones. However, proteins present in milk products, such as cheese, could also prevent dental plaque formation.
