Dieting Through The Holidays
Heading out of home for a getaway is often fun. It gives a complete break from the monotony and stress of life. It can be a bit of a scare for those who are trying to watch their weight. Since this is a time to make merry, cutting back on the calories can be especially difficult now. Here are simple ways to have fun, and limit guilt while you are away.
Avoid buffet meals. They just let you go completely. Since the servings and varieties are endless, you ending up eating a whole lot more than you should be. Also, try and eat your favourtite foods in the form that has least number of calories. It’s not so important to finish every dish you have ordered. Let your moral highground take a back seat here. Eat just as much as your conscience allows.
You do not have to have every sweet on the menu. Just because it is time to celebrate, do not binge on the desserts. Make healthy food choices.
Have plenty of water. This will not only help digest the food better, but also help cut down the fat faster, and let it out easily.
Have enough vegetable and fruit salads. This will not only fill you up better, but also cause you to cut down on other unhealthy foods you might be tempted to give in to.
Eat only when you feel the need to. You do not have to nibble on everything you see go by you. Respond only to hunger cravings and eat at your regular meal times.
Although you may not have the access to your regular fitness routine, try and find some form of exercise or recreation and work it into your day. Try walking, cycling, swimming, or even some sport and dedicate some time in the day to it. It will not only help cut back on the weight and guilt, but will make you feel more energised and refreshed as well.
