Effective Cure For Oily Skin

February 10, 2009

Oily skin is a condition that is faced commonly by many people. However, dealing effectively with oily skin is important in keeping the skin looking clean and healthy. Care for oily skin differs from that meant for other skin types. When oily skin is not kept in check, it starts to look more weighed down and has the tendency to make the skin look darker.

Many products are available specially suited for oily skin. What must be taken care of is to ensure that these keep the oil in check for sustained amounts of time, and not just on application.

Some products tend to weaken after they have been used, and can get oily skin to become unmanageable after a while. A simple treatment made using products readily available at home can prove very effective for oily skin.

Start by cleasning the face well. Then, use some cold curd to clean the face well using some cotton wool. Wash the face with some warm water. Soak some black gram overnight and cook it. Make a paste of this, and before applying, mix it with a little water and some curd. Apply over the face and leave on for about ten minutes. Wash the face.

Make a coarse powder of raw rice, and mix it in curd. Scrub the face well for about five minutes, and then wash off. Apply a pack using fuller’s earth mixed in either rose water or sandal paste. Leave on for at least twenty minutes, or till it dries up completely.

While the gram paste and the fuller’s earth help in cutting oil from the face, you will see a noted difference with the use of both curd and rice flour. Both have a natural tendency to bleach the face, and also help in getting rid of fine facial hair.
