Favouring the Feet
November 6, 2008
No look is complete without the right footwear. It adds a finish to all clothes, and can set the mood to anything that is worn.
There are different varieties of shoes that can be found with varying heels. The heels you chose are determined by your own characteristics, as well as the place you are wearing the shoes to.
Flat shoes are by far the most comfortable. They rest and relax the feet most, and spread the weight of the foot and body evenly. These are the best type to choose when you have weight problems, if you have to walk a long distance, or if you have to perform tasks that use the feet a lot.
Pencil heels are the most fashionable. These are high heels that are narrow and pointed. While they may look most beautiful, they are the least comfortable. Losing balance is easiest in this type of heel, so make sure you have had some practice with this footwear if you plan to wear it out. Pencil heels are formal and make good accompaniments to parties and formal fucntions.
The platform heel is made keeping in mind functionality and elegance. These are heels that are balanced through – from the toes to the sole. The even heel through the footwear make it more relaxing on the feet, while allowing the extra inches from the heels. These are good choices for work, to school and for the day.
Block heels are quite pupolar. While the area near the toes is virtually flat, the heel is well supported as the sole since it is rather broad and sturdy. This is most popular among the working people since it combines the fashion of heels and is also extremely comfortable. This look can complement virtually all dressing styles and makes it universal in its appeal.
While choosing your type of heel make sure you have understood your body type well. Look for shoes that can balance your weight evenly without giving you problems later. Also try and ascertain the demands that will be made on the feet depending on where you are going. In short, dress for the occasion. While fashion may be important, your comfort is on high priority.
