Fighting Premature Greying of Hair
Grey hair has always been seen as a sign of ageing. Strands of silver are considered a dignified way of showing experience and maturity. Men and women have no qualms about showing strands of grey once they reach an appropriate age.
Today, however, hair is seen greying much earlier. Children as young as fifteen and sixteen have strands of grey appearing, and suffer great setbacks as far as their adjustability and self esteem are concerned.
Premature greying of the hair is caused by exposure to harsh conditions like excessive sun exposure, facing increased levels of pollution, and even sitting in air conditioned environments for very ling hours through the day. It has also been found that poor diets can lead to premature greying of the hair. This, along with low levels of melanin in the body can all cause the hair to turn grey before it really should. There are some tips to cure or treat premature greying of hair.
It is most important to take healthy diet. Generous amounts of fruits and vegetables must be added to the diet. Foods like spinach and other foods rich in iron are good for the hair. Mustard and almond oils are good for the hair, as is hibiscus.
Avoid exposing the hair directly to harsh conditions. Wear some protective covering for the hair if you are stepping out in the sun or in polluted environments. Avoid standing or sitting too close to air condition vents.
Another important aspect is stress. Stress has been known to cause greying of hair. Spend some time in meditation or some form of relaxation. Also try and get adequate sleep at night as rest is also important for the hair.
Good hair is important to all of us. We must realise that hair that looks good is all in our hands. It is for us to nurture our hair, or cause its ruin.
