Finding Remedies For Tonsilitis


Problems of the thorat are most uncomfortable as they not only take long to cure completely, but also because the discomfort felt is severe. It makes talking, swallowing and eating very difficult. The recurreneces of throat infections are also frequent, as once the throat has been infected repeated infections tend to set in faster. While throat infections themselves may take a while before they are cured, there are many ways to ease the pain easily using simple household remedies.

Take one frsh lime and squeeze into a glass of warm water. To this add about four teaspoons of honey and a pinch of common salt. Sip this slowly to get instant relief. This mixture can be had every few hours to relieve the sore feeling.

Vegetable juices can also help give lots of relief. Carrots, beetroot and cucumber all good options that can be used either seperately or in combination to benefit.

Gargling can prove extremely useful. Use water that is slightly warm. Try keeping the water as hot as the throat can tolerate it. To this mix a little salt and turmeric. While the salt will give relief, the turmeric helps heal wounds and the affected tonsils quickly. Gargle every hour or two, and the condition will improve within a day. If the infection is severe, you could try adding a paracetamol to the warm water before gargling.

Take a glass of boiled milk, and to this add a pinch of turmeric powder and pepper powder. Drink this every night before sleeping. Drunk regularly for three nights, this should help give much relief and also allow better sleep.

Clarified butter has the tendency to heal tonsilitis better. Drinking warm milk mixed with a little ghee or clarified butter will help keep the tonsils moist and prevent itching sensations caused from dryness.
