Fitness Tips to Beat the Heat


With the summer setting in, people are looking for ways to beat the heat and be in shape. It is the right time to have a proper fitness agenda. Working out, releases the hormone endorphin. This enhances our mood and relieves stress.

Here are few exercises that will help you keep yourself chilled during these hot summers.

Walking:

Early morning walks helps a lot. They not only help in reducing calories and building stamina, but also refresh your mind, and keep it active for the day.

Swimming:

Swimming is great for thrashing the heat. It is a full body activity. It is applicable for all age groups and is advantageous too, as injury risks are nil in the case of swimming. Keep your swimming to early morning hours or late afternoons.

Yoga:

Any form of yoga helps in increasing flexibility, concentration and toning of muscles. They help in building strong stamina power. They are not just physical exercises but mental exercises too.

Body weight squats:

Body weight squats are known to be the king of all exercises. It works the largest muscle of our body- contracepts, hamstrings and gluts.

Push ups are also handy. They work the entire upper body and core muscles.

Skipping:

Jumping rope is a simple exercise that has numerous benefits including working out the muscles of the legs, shoulders, biceps and forearms. It helps to burn loads of calories.

Pranayama:

This is basically a breathing exercise. It improves your breathing techniques, and refreshes your body from inside. Indirectly, it helps in increasing your endurance.

Simple stretches:

Simple stretches if done the right way, improves muscle tone, increases flexibility and reduces one’s chances of lower back pain.

Plank position:

The longer you are able to hold the plank position the harder the muscles of your core, shoulder, triceps and back work.

Aerobics/dance classes:

Any form of dance or aerobics could be chosen. If you don’t want to go for any classes, just put on your favorite music and get going. This could shed off few kilos.
