Five Tips to a Flat Belly

Belly bloating is a matter of annoyance and anxiety to any young person today. All want a flat belly, not only because a flat belly looks good but because belly bloating can cause physical discomfort too. But you need not be sad if you have a bloating belly. It can be easily cured by just being a bit cautious about your food habits. However, you must know that here, we are not talking about the extra fat in the stomach but we are focusing on the temporary bloating of the belly.

The first step to avoid belly bloating is to avoid constipation. To do so, you must add a lot of fibre in your diet. Green leafy vegetables, legumes and fruits, whole grains, nuts and seeds are rich sources of fibre. Also consume sufficient amount of liquid for better tolerance. You must also work out for at least 30 minutes per day.

Never eat too fast. Always make sure you chew your food properly before swallowing it. Enjoy your food while you eat. You must spend at least 30 minutes to complete one meal.

Avoid fizzy, carbonated drinks as much as you can. They cause gas to get trapped in your belly and cause the unwanted bloating. Instead, you can always have lemon juice, lime juice or cucumber to cool you in the summers. You may also try ice tea or peppermint tea to cool yourself.

Avoid excessive sugar as sugar is a good cause for belly bloating. Artificial sugar used in drinks and some sweet dishes cause the trouble. Natural sweeteners like jaggery and honey is always a better substitute to artificial sweeteners.

You can try and avoid three heavy meals a day and try eating smaller meals more often. Even six small meals would not give you a bloating belly and it also helps control blood sugar.

Apart from this, you may try consuming tea, ginger, pineapple and yoghurts as they contain probiotics which control bloating.
