For centuries, flowers are used in beauty treatment. Flowers in their natural form or oil extracted from them are used for skin and hair care.
Rose
Rose is the most popular flower used in skin care. Rose water is used as a skin toner. Rose is believed to facilitate blood circulation and is good for the vascular health of the skin. Adding rose petals in your bath water will help you to get a refreshing bath.
Hibiscus
Hibiscus is used in the Indian subcontinent for treating various skin and hair conditions. By promoting blood circulation, hibiscus makes the skin and the scalp healthy. Hibiscus acts as an astringent. It tightens pores of the skin and prevents clogging of the pores. This flower is used for curing dandruff. Hibiscus extracts are used in hair oils, shampoos, hair tonic and conditioners.
Lavender
The soothing effect of lavender is utilized in various beauty products. Lavender soothes the nerves and calms the body as well as the mind. In traditional medicines, lavender is used for treating several neurological problems, such as migraine, insomnia, depression, tension and to some extent hysteria. By smelling lavender flower, you can reduce your blood pressure level. Lavender refreshes the skin. It is used as an ingredient in natural skin and hair scalp toners. Extracts from lavender flower can reduce several skin ailments, such as eczema, scabies, dermatitis and psoriasis. You can prevent pimples and acne by using lavender based skin toner.
Marigold
Marigold is beneficial for people with oily skins. This flower acts as an astringent. By tightening enlarged pores of the skin, marigold reduces the excess oiliness of the skin.
Orange Flower
Orange flower is good for people with dry skin. It helps in rejuvenating the skin by mending broken capillaries. It removes the dead cells and helps in the growth of new cells. Orange flower can be used in preventing wrinkles and dry lines. It is often used in anti aging skin care products.
