Detoxification Diet

Detoxification diet is planned to remove the accumulated toxins from your body. The toxins present in the body are transformed in to much harmless substances and are then eliminated through urine and stools. This helps you to get back your energy and helps you to achieve clear skin and improved digestion with regular bowel movements. It also improves your concentration.

If you have any of these disease then you should not try a detoxification diet, diabetic, thyroid, kidney disease, cancer, eating disorder, autoimmune disease, chronic diseases etc. if you are a nursing mother or if you are pregnant then also you need t avoid detoxification diet.

Four Weeks Detoxification Diet

Four weeks detoxification diet includes four stages and they are cleansing the bowels and kidney, cleansing the lymphatic system, cleansing the gall bladder and liver and cleansing the lungs, blood and skin.

The basic diet during the four weeks remains the same and the only difference is with the specific herbal teas that are targeted to cleanse the specific organs. Here is the basic diet plan.

After Waking up in the Morning

The first thing you need to do is to drink a glass of warm water mixed with lemon juice taken from half lemon.

After Exercise

You have to do exercise in the morning, 30 minutes brisk walking will be enough and this will increase the flow of lymphatic fluid to fourteen times. Then take one and a half cup of water mixed with one teaspoon of pectin and one teaspoon psyllium husks.

Breakfast

Take some smoothies made out of fresh banana, pineapple and papaya.

Morning Snack

Fresh fruits preferably berry

Lunch

Take a large green salad that includes red pepper, tomato, avocado mixed with balsamic vinaigrette.

Afternoon Snack

Celery sticks along with almond butter.

Dinner

Large mixed salad along with Moroccan vegetable and wild rice’s soup.

Evening Snack

Nut balls, orange and dates.

In phase one you need to include dandelion tea, cranberry juice and buchu tea as it help to cleanse the kidney. In second phase include herbal teas of basil, burdock roots, yellow dock root etc. in third phase take milk thistle, schisandra berries, dandelion root, licorice root etc for cleansing the liver and gall bladder. Herbal teas of burdock, dandelion root, yellow dock root etc can clean the blood and skin and can be taken during the fourth phase.

While sticking to detoxification diet you may have headache and this may be due to the withdrawal of caffeine. Sometimes you may have diarrhea and dehydration. Electrolyte loss, tiredness, weight loss, hunger etc may also happen.
