Fresh Air For The Skin

Most of us know of the damage that can be caused from exposure to harsh sunlight. To avoid sunburn and tanning of the skin we all prefer staying indoors. This, too, unfortunately has its own down side. Staying within the confines of the house can also do the skin much harm.

Todays’ life is characterized by moving around indoors. Unless we make a special effort to stay outside for a while, most of our time is spent in the house, at the office and other closed spaces. Lack of exposure to sunlight harms the skin as it is deprived of essential nutrients. Some amount of sunlight is very important for the skin.

Closed environs and excessive airconditioning is also very bad for the skin. It does not allow the skin to breathe freely, or oxygenation to take place. Sweat that is secreted from the body is also not allowed to vapourise completely, and remains of waste salts and body bacteria are left clinging to the skin, which could also lead to infections.

It is often noticed that when you stay within air conditioned places for long, the skin starts to dry up and become more lifeless. The natural glow from the skin is lost, and it starts to look weak and aged. This is because the skin does not have adequate room to breathe. It is also noticed that the skin starts to darken and the natural complexion is lost quickly.

Make sure you have some time out in the open. Every few hours try and step out for a few minutes and let he skin breathe freely. This will also refresh the body and allow the lungs to function better. The skin will also have the ability to regain from the open the ability to repair itself better.

Turmeric and sandal make the best remedies for skin that is affected by air conditioning. This will help soothe irritated skin, and also lighten the skin well. Use them on a daily basis of you work indoors for long hours.
