Gingivitis Treatment
Gingivitis is an inflammation on the gums that leads to bleeding of the gum. Gingivitis affects the tissues around the gums and teeth. It can be due to improper oral hygiene that leads to the accumulation of food particles, plaque, tartar, bacteria etc in between the teeth and gum. The bacteria or other microorganisms that gets deposited in between the teeth and gum produce toxic chemicals and cause infection. The affected person may have pain in the gums, bleeding from the gums and the gums at times become swollen and tender. It may also be associated with bad taste and bad breath in the mouth. Here are some remedies that may help you to get relief from these symptoms.
Remedies for Gingivitis
Clove
Clove is considered to be one of the best remedy for gingivitis. You can use clove oil to rub on the gums and it may cause burning sensations but is ideal for treating gingivitis. Keep a clove in the mouth and chew it slowly.
Oral Hygiene
You need to brush your teeth twice daily and good brushing techniques may help you to prevent the formation of plaque and tartar and thus helps you to avoid gingivitis. Try to use herbal toothpastes that contain neem, mint, babool, basil, peppermint, sage etc. This may help you to reduce the inflammation and swelling and also prevent the infection from spreading. Similarly use a mouth wash that constitutes chamomile oil, sage oil or peppermint oil.
Aloe Vera
Apply the juice taken from fresh aloe vera leaves on the gums and keep it for a few minutes. Then gargle the mouth with water. Duplicate this process again. This may be useful for treating gingivitis.
Herbal Powder
Mix two teaspoon oak bark powder with one teaspoon myrrh herbal powder, 18 teaspoon powdered clove and ¾ teaspoon powdered peppermint. Mix this mixture very well and store in an air-tight container. Take one tablespoon of this mixture and rub it on the affected area daily in the morning and night.
Take care of your gingivitis as early as possible otherwise it may leads to periodontitis which in turn destroys the bones and thus leads to teeth loss.
