Glory of Ageing
November 24, 2008
As we age, the skin is naturally robbed of its youth. Unfortunately, age catches up with the skin faster than it does with us. While we may only be in the late thirties, it is not rare to find skin that looks well nearing fifty. The problem of ageing skin is faced by almost everyone.
The skin starts to age faster as the cells cannot care for themselves and reproduce as they did in youth. Moisture is lost faster, and hormonal changes in the body cause the skin to get affected adversely. In such circumstances, it is common to rush for medical intervension in the hope that age will be reversed. There are more practical, simple ways to deal with this phenomenon.
Make changes in your lifestyle. Try and live closer to nature. Take long walks near either the sea, or in open parks. Calm yourself down and spend some time in meditation. Regular exercise is also important for the skin. Yoga is known to work wonders for the body in fighting ageing and keeping it toned and young.
Regularise food intake. Eat on time, and make sure you switch to more healthy foods if you have been indulging yourself. Choose foods that are not fried, low in fats and avoid red meat as far as possible. The ability of the skin to lose oils is lowered and it cannot take these large peoportions of fat. Detoxify the system with as much fluid intake as possible.
Start with the juice if carrot, mint, corriander and celery every morning and it will refresh the system instantly. Green tea is also known to be highly beneficial. Try and reduce the intake of alcohol. Increase the intake of fresh fruit and vegetables. Make sure you add at least two helpings of fresh fruit and vegetables daily. Avoid adding artificial sugars to it.
While selected products for the face, try and use those made from natural products. Aloe, jojoba, dead sea and rainforest products are all available today and make better options for the skin since chemicals do not go well with ageing skin.
The most important factor is your own attitude. Be positive and happy and that reflects well on the skin. Gracefully embracing age and tackling it in the correct manner will put most problems to rest.
