Grape Expectations

October 27, 2008

Grapes are one of nature’s best gifts. Not only do they taste great but they make large contributions to the good health of the body.

Grapes are sweet, unctuous, nutritious and cold in action. They quench the thirst, clear the urine and bring clear motion. They help eliminate toxins from the body. They agree best with those who have excessive fire and air elements in the body.

Grapes purify the blood, are cooling, diuretics and laxatives. The leaves make good astringents, and also help cure diarrhoea. Grape juice is a great antodite to throat infections as they have astringent properties.
A cup of grape juice is useful in controlling blood pressure and also rheumatism.

Feverish children who are teething can be given one teaspoon of grape juice every day to gain relief.
Raisins soaked can be eaten daily to cure constipation. Fry a few raisins in ghee and eat them to cure dry cough. Boil one teaspoon of raisins and 2 pieces of fruit in milk and drink everyday to cure eye ailments.
Grapes and raisins also help cure sotmach ailments, skin diseases, venereal diseases, and to improve memory.

Pregnant women should take dry black grapes that are soaked overnight everyday. It makes a highly nutritious contribution to the diet.

Grapes improve the quality of voice, and help in curing tuberculosis, phthisis, weakness and burning sensations.

Grapes are not the best fruit for those with problems with sugar. Avoid adding sugar to grapes while consuming them since they have enough natural sugars and do not need reinforcment. Sugars will only lessen the quality of the grapes.

You can now be more guilt free when you load yourself with grapes. You are only adding many natural cures and giving your body better health. This is the time to enjoy.
