Hang Over
Parties are always looked forward to. Gatherings, celebrations and occasions are only excuses to catch up with friends and family and have a good time. It is a time to bond, destress and renew ties. Most times, we come away with happy memories. Sometimes, we are left nursing hangovers.
The occasional weekend out with friends is when you can have fun and indulge in a few drinks without feeling too guilty about waking up late the next morning. Sometimes the drinks get the better of us, and we are left feeling awful the next day. Here are ways to getting around a hangover without much trouble.
Pay attention to the body. If it demands more rest, then allow yourself to sleep in. Straining the body will only take more time for it to get over the sickness faster. Instead, a little more rest will help you come around quickly. Do not get up in haste, or leave the bed with a jerk. Instead, lie in for a few minutes after you have woken up. Remember that your impulses are still not at their best. Give the body some time to cope.
Drink plenty of cold water. While water at room temperature or slightly warmer has the tendency to be expelled quickly, colder water is retained in the body longer. Drinking plenty of cold water will ensure that you are not dehydrated.
Drink either cold lemon juice or buttermilk. Both these have the ability to replace lost minerals from the body quickly. The lemon juice will also help you feel more refreshed and less heavy in the head. Drinking buttermilk that has a slight tempering will also ease any queasy feeling in the stomach.
Follow your stomach. If you feel well make sure you eat as much as the stomach needs. It is important to fill the stomach. If you feel the stomach is a little sluggish and unresponsive, have a light meal and keep it less strained.
The best remedy is to keep the drinks limited. But if you have ended up letting yourself go, cut back a little the next day. Follow the body, and don’t try to lead. You will have your chance later.
