Health Benefits of Epsom Salt

Many people have magnesium deficiency and most of them are not aware of the importance of magnesium. Magnesium has second position among the elements present in the human cells. Magnesium has an important role in regulating the enzymes and they control around 325 enzymes in our body. Magnesium also regulates many of the functions in our body like energy production, muscle control, toxin elimination, organizing electrical impulses etc.

In order to correct the magnesium deficiencies scientist discovered Epsom salt which is hydrated magnesium sulfate. Epsom salt can be used as a home remedy for many diseases.

Uses of Epsom Salt

1.    Epsom salt improves the blood circulation and there by improves the health of the heart. It brings down the irregular heart beats and prevents the hardening and improves the elasticity of the arteries. It also helps to reduce the blood clots formed in the blood vessels.

2.    Epsom salt has a wound healing property and it can be used for relieving the discomfort caused after child birth.

3.    Epsom salt will help you to remove the bad smell of your feet and can also leave your skin soft. For this you need to soak your feet in a bucket of water containing one cup of Epsom salt.

4.    Epsom salt is found to be useful for treating muscle cramps, inflammation and pains. It is also a good remedy for cold, congestion, bronchial asthma, migraine etc.

5.    Stress is a common phenomenon in this century and stress leads to reduced level of magnesium in the blood. This result in increased production of adrenaline. To be in relaxed mood we need serotonin which is the mood elevating hormone. Magnesium present in Epsom salt will bind the serotonin with in the brain and helps you to relax and calm down.

Thus Epsom salt can help you to reduce your stress. Epsom Salt will also help you to reduce the high blood pressure and increases your concentration and imparts sleep. Thus you can relax easily.

6.     Epsom salt can also improve your stamina and strength by promoting the adenosine triphosphate production.

7.    Epsom salt can also regulate the functioning of electrolytes in your body and there by improving the nerve functioning. Magnesium is essential for maintaining the level of calcium in the blood and calcium in turn serves as a main conductor of the electric impulses in your body.

Epsom salt will also act as a laxative and it helps you to absorb nutrients more efficiently. It also improves your oxygen usage and thus keeps you healthy.
