Health Benefits of Soybean

Soy is a plant that belongs to leguminosae family and the seeds of which is called soybean. Sot bean is found to be an important source for complete protein and is as nutritionally beneficial as milk and egg.
Also soybean contains vitamin A, B, E and traces of vitamin C. it also consist of iron, potassium, zinc, fat, protein, carbohydrates, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, carbohydrates, niacin, fiber etc.
Soy bean is having low glycemic index which in turn will help you to control the level of blood sugar. Hence soy bean is a good food for patients having diabetes.
Soy bean proteins are found to reduce the level of cholesterols in the blood especially the LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. A reduction in the bad cholesterol will help you to protect your heart. The isoflavones present in soy protein will aids in removing the bad cholesterol and will also increase the elasticity of the arteries and will obstruct the development of plaques inside the arterial wall.
More than that the soluble fibers present in soy will create obstacle in the absorption and metabolism of cholesterol. Soy bean can also reduce the risk of getting coronary artery diseases and this is due to the reduction in LDL cholesrtol, lipids in blood, blood pressue and homocysteine.
Cancer
Soybean plays an important role in controlling the prostate cancer and breast cancer. Soya bean consist of isoflavones called genistein and daidzein which in turn may act as a phyoestrogen. These isofavones has the power to neutralize the cancer causing potential of the estrogen.
Bone Health
Soy and soy products contain isoflavones which aids in reducing the risks of osteoporosis. Soya will prevent the loss of bone and also found to inhibit the breakdown of bones. It also helps in maintaining the health of the bone.
Soya bean may protect a woman from the severity of the hot flashes during pre menopausal period. A regular diet including soy bean just after menopause or before menopause is found to be beneficial for maintaining the health of a woman. It helps to keep the bones healthy with out turning the bones in to brittle and weak. Thus it protects the women who has undergone menopausal from osteoporosis and also from heart diseases.
