Watermelon is a big source of valuable components which work amazingly to cure certain diseases related to health. In summer it is not only a best option to beat heat, but, when chances of dehydration are very high, a piece of watermelon is enough to hydrate entire body system as the watermelon contains 95% of water.

Natural sugars found in it help to manage the level of glucose in the body. Apart from this, watermelon consist medicinal value. It is good for kidneys. High consistency of water makes it a powerful diuretic diet.

It is effectual in curing renal and bilious sufferings. Watermelon is full of antioxidants, thus, risk of kidney stones and bone loss linked to age also decrease. People with cardiovascular problem are advised to eat watermelon, because of amino acids and beta carotene available in this fruit as they are known to protect heart. At the same time beta carotene works as a supporter of heart against cancer.

Watermelon is enriched in antioxidant Lycopene which make this juicy fruit attractive red. Numerous researches have shown a link between dietary intake of lycopene and decrease in ailments of prostate and oral cancers. In short all the three antioxidants found in watermelon are helpful to make body and heart healthy in people.

Watermelon is a good source of vitamins and minerals. Vitamin A, B and C are found in this fruit. Vitamin A is good for eyes and defends skin from infections. Vitamin B is known to reduce stress and troubles related to anxiety, provide energy.

Vitamin c works to strengthen the immune system of entire body, protecting from various allergies and infections. Supplement of vitamin A and C neutralize the body minimizing heart ailments, asthma and symptoms of osteoarthritis.

Watermelons are full of potassium that controls blood pressure. It is rich in thiamin, magnesium and sodium in the form of electrolyte. Individuals willing to lose weight can opt for watermelon as it is high in water content and has low calories and supply more nutrients per unit of intake.

Not only watermelon, its seeds are also rich in protein, magnesium, potassium, iron phosphorous and zinc. A drink of watermelon pulp blended with milk powder and ice is a cool, soothing and delectable nutritious drink during summers.
