Slippery elm tincture or dried slippery elm powder can also be consumed with a glass of water several times on a daily basis to obtain the desired results.
Marshmallow root is also referred to as ‘’Althaea Officinalis’’. Intake of a mixture prepared by soaking the dried marshmallow root (1 teaspoon) in water (1 cup) multiple times in a day can help in curing the burning sensation resulting from gerd. This herb may also help in protecting the esophagus membrane against acid.
Aloe vera can be used to relieve gerd. Consumption of this herb may heal the esophageal membrane. Aloe vera gel (1 teaspoon) can be consumed 20 to 30 minutes prior to each meal to treat various symptoms associated with the problem of gerd. Drinking aloe vera juice diluted with apple or grape juice on a frequent basis can provide effective results.
