Herbal Remedies To Reduce Eyestrain

The symptoms of eye strain comprise headaches, backaches, neck ache, itching in eyes, sensations of burning, distorted vision and spasms around eyes.  Via appliance of these given below herbal remedies, it is possible for an individual to reduce the strain on eyes.

Euphrasia Officinalis – This herb is widely used as a natural treatment for various eye problems, specifically in watery eyes. This herb acts as both anti-inflammatory and astringent and aids in immediate relief from inflammation and irritation. Mix 2-3 tbsp of dried herb in one cup of hot water and boil it for at least 15 minutes. Strain and once cooled it should be consumed for a minimum of 3 times during a day.

Vaccinium Myrtillus – The berries of this shrub provides an excellent remedy for eyes problems and augments vision. The anthocyanosides present in this herb provides strength to capillaries which leads to prevention of blood appearance in eyes. This herb can also be taken in forms of capsules for 3 times during a day.

Goldenseal – The usage of goldenseal extract as an eyewash provides immediate relief to eye inflammation, irritation and assists in relaxation of eye muscles. A blend of 1 cup sterile water with ¼ tbsp salt and half tablespoon of goldenseal can be used as herbal eyewash after straining all hard particles.

Witch Hazel – The bark of the witch hazel tree is one of most effective herbal remedies against body aches and eye strains. The extract or toner of with hazel herb can be used to get instantaneous relief from burning sensation and itching in eyes. The best way to apply this herbal remedy is to soak a soft cloth in extract or toner and place it over eyes externally and relax for a minimum of 15 minutes.

Matricaria Recutita – This herb is known for its anti inflammatory properties. This herbal remedy is widely used to reduce the level of muscles stress and conjunctivitis. This herb can be used both ways internally or externally. Mix 1 tbsp of dried flowers in a cup of water and boil it on low flame for 12 minutes. Once cooled soak a cloth and cover it on eyes for a minimum of 15 minutes. This herbal tea can also be consumed for immediate relief.
