Home Remedies for Backache
Backache is not a new term for anybody. With office hours increasing everyday, each of us has to experience backache at some point of the day. Backache is a serious problem which can lead to spondylitis and even paralysis if neglected. To avert such a situation, one must take care and treat it before it gets beyond control. The best way to treat backache is by using home remedies.
Using garlic to treat backache is the best home remedy. The oil prepared from garlic when massaged on the back gives instant relief. This oil is prepared by frying eight to ten cloves of garlic in half a cup of mustard oil. This oil must be rubbed thoroughly till absorbed and must be followed by a warm bath. However, the treatment is more effective if the patient manages to eat two to three cloves of garlic daily.
Raw potato can also be used as a remedy for backache, especially in the lower back. A poultice of raw potato when applied in the area of pain gives instant relief. However, this relief is not long lasting and the treatment must be repeated frequently.
Lemon appears to be a favourite of all home remedies. It is also handy for the cure of backache. The juice of a whole lemon, diluted in a glass of water and mixed with common salt should be taken twice a day. This will give relief to back ache. Although one does not feel the relief immediately, yet the cure is long lasting.
Chebulic Myroblan, though not a common fruit, is a very good cure for severe back ache. A small piece of the fruit should be consumed daily after lunch for at least fifteen days. This can cure backache of the worst kind.
Apart from these remedies, one must take care of one’s sitting posture. Ladies with back ache must avoid high heels at all cost. Oily and spicy food should be avoided and one must consume lots of fresh fruits and salads. Avoid smoking or any other form of tobacco consumption. Most importantly, always try to have a warm bath or a steam bath frequently.
