Home Remedies for Dry Skin

Dry skin develops due to scarcity of oil in the skin. The oil glands in the skin produce only a little amount of oil and so the skin appears to be scaly and rough. In extreme cases there might be cracks on the skin. Dryness of the skin increases with high and low temperature, exposure to wind, sun, cosmetics, chemicals and nutritional deficiency. Extreme dryness of the skin may cause eczema, dermatitis, seborrhea, psoriasis etc.

Protect your skin from the hot sun, wind and sudden temperature fluctuations. If you’re a person who smokes, then get rid of your smoking habit as smoking will have an adverse effect on your skin. Never use hot water for washing your skin.
