Home Remedies for Dry Skin
Dry skin develops due to scarcity of oil in the skin. The oil glands in the skin produce only a little amount of oil and so the skin appears to be scaly and rough. In extreme cases there might be cracks on the skin. Dryness of the skin increases with high and low temperature, exposure to wind, sun, cosmetics, chemicals and nutritional deficiency. Extreme dryness of the skin may cause eczema, dermatitis, seborrhea, psoriasis etc.
Remedies for Dry Skin
1. Wash your face luke warm water and moisturize your skin with raw milk. Leave the milk for about 30 minutes on your face and there after wash your face with cold water.
2. Make a mixture with one egg, half teaspoon olive oil and one teaspoon honey. Also add a few drops of rose water to this mixture. Apply this as a mask on your face and this is a good remedy for dry skin.
3. Take a diet that is well balanced with grains, vegetables, seeds, fruits, nuts etc. Quality vegetable protein and raw foods may change your dry and itchy skin type.
4. Adequate sleep is essential for removing the dryness of the skin because the repair work of the skin takes place during the resting period.
5. Make a paste of fresh apricot on your skin for about 15 minutes and this will makes your skin glow.
6. Apply a paste of ripe papaya on your face and keep it on the face till it dries and remove it with cold water.
7. Try to avoid soaps that contain alkaline constituents and also avoid the detergents which have washing soda in it. This is because the washing soda and the alkaline constituents are found to increase the dryness of the skin.
8. Mix one teaspoon of powdered green clay and one teaspoon of raw honey and apply it on your face and allow it to dry there for about 15 minutes. Then wash your face with luke warm water and this will help you to get rid of the dry skin.
9. Do regular exercise which will help you to increase the blood circulation which in turn will clean and nourish your skin.
Protect your skin from the hot sun, wind and sudden temperature fluctuations. If you’re a person who smokes, then get rid of your smoking habit as smoking will have an adverse effect on your skin. Never use hot water for washing your skin.
