Menopause is the stopping of menses in women. It is a very normal thing happening to all women in their late forties. It means the end of the female reproductive period of life. Menopause in itself is not a problem, but it causes several side effects that need to be taken care of in order to carry on with normal day to day works.
Menopausal disorder symptoms
Symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats and tension, insomnia, diminished interest in sex, irritability, and depression are common among most women during and after menopause. Other symptoms are fatigue, palpitations, giddiness, headaches, and numbness. Severe backache may be caused followed by thinning of the bones. This situation is called osteoporosis and arises from the low level of estrogen in the bloodstream. This happens because at the time of menopause, the entire chain of endocrine glands is affected.
Remedies
Beet juice
Beet juice is a good remedy for menopause disorder. But one needs to take it regularly and in adequate amount to ensure proper working of the medicine. Take small quantities of beet root juice (60ml – 90ml) three times in a day.
Carrot seeds
Take 1 tsp of carrot seed and boil it with milk. Drink this milk daily before going to bed. This helps cure most problems related to menopause.
Liquorice
Liquorice contains the natural female hormone, estrogen, and helps to make up for the absence of the hormone naturally. Take one tsp of liquorice powder daily, before going to bed. This is very effective to cure irritability and depression occurring during menopause.
Proper nutrition
Include seeds, nuts, grains, vegetables, and fruits, with emphasis on vitamin E-rich foods, raw and sprouted seeds and nuts, unpasteurized high-quality milk, and homemade cottage cheese in your daily diet. Plenty of freshly made juices of fruits and vegetables in season should also be added. Good food helps cure most of the hormonal problems.
Apart from these remedies, one needs to workout and exercise daily. Walking, jogging, swimming, horse-riding, or cycling are good forms of exercises during menopause.
