Good teeth make good looks. They are a wonderful balance of aesthetic beauty and great engineering. Toothache is a common problem that occurs without any warning. But they are very painful and can cause great difficulty in eating and talking.
Symptoms of toothache
A toothache is a sudden sharp pain in the tooth and gum. It can be throbbing, shooting, or steady. Toothache is accompanied by swelling gums and swellings in the throat. If the tooth is not properly treated, it will finally have to be extracted. It can also cause decaying of other teeth.
Causes
The greatest cause of tooth decay is faulty diet. Too much eating of sugar, candy and soft drinks cause tooth decay. The use of candy, soft drinks, pastries, refined carbohydrates and sugar in all forms is the greatest curse to the teeth. Bacteria in the mouth break sugar down into acids, which unite with the calcium in the enamel to cause decay or erosion.
Remedies
Garlic
Take a clove of garlic with some rock salt on it and keep it on the affected tooth. It will not only reduce the pain but can cure it also if the damage is not too serious.
Onion
Onion helps killing a lot of germs and bacteria in the mouth. Chewing raw onion for three minutes is enough to kill all the germs in the mouth. Toothache is often allayed by placing a small piece of onion on the dreadful tooth or gum.
Clove
Clove and clove oil can kill most bacteria formed in the mouth and teeth. Put a clove on the affected tooth and chew it softly over time. Suck the juice very slowly. This helps cure most tooth problems. Clove oil, applied to a cavity in a decayed tooth, also reduces toothache.
Lime
Lime also helps cure tooth ache. It contains vitamin C and thus helps protect teeth from decay.
Asafoetida
Pastel some asafoetida in lemon juice and heat it slightly. Dab a cotton ball in this juice and apply it on the affected tooth and gum. It will relieve pain rapidly.
Pepper
Mix a mixture of a pinch of pepper powder and a quarter tsp of common salt. Brush teeth with it. It helps reduce toothache and also cures bad breath. A pinch of pepper powder mixed with clove oil can be put on the cavities to lighten the toothache.
