Home Remedies For Treatment Of Tanned Skin

The skin tanning is a natural process to protect sensitive skin tissues from ultra violet rays. Exposure of skin to ultraviolet rays produces a dark colored pigment known as melanin. Melanin darkens the skin complexion and the extreme exposure can also cause skin cancer.

The cells responsible for generation of melanin are scientifically indentified as melanocytes. The melanocytes play a crucial role in protecting the body’s DNA from an extreme exposure to harmful solar radiation. However, the pace of tanning and drying of skin as per the variance in human genes. Given below are few home remedies which have been recognized to deliver precise and effectual results.

The skin of peeled potato is one of the most widely implemented home remedy for skin tan. The skin of freshly peeled potato should be rubbed over and surrounding affected areas regularly for few days to gain desired results. This remedy is only effective for mild tanning.

A blend of sugar, fresh lemon juice and glycerin is also a great home remedy for the treatment of severe tanning. This blend ought to be scrubbed externally over the affected area. It is best to apply the blended paste via smooth massaging technique to acquire optimum results.

Another mostly used remedy for treatment of dark skin is to prepare a mixture of potato and lemon juice and apply it on affected area for a minimum of 20 minutes. Post 20 minutes, rinse the dried mixture with cold water. This remedy should be followed once a day till the tanning vanishes.

Appliance of a paste comprising mashed leaves of aloe vera and fresh juice of lemon on the affected areas of skin assists in quick cleansing of skin pores and provides relief in a short span of days. Olive oil can also be mixed in above said paste to gain some extra nourishment for skin.

The application of organic honey mixed with juice of one fresh lime is a very effective home remedy to lighten the skin color caused by the tanning. This remedy can also be applied in cases of burnt marks.

To prevent the tanning of skin a mixture of cider vinegar and water should be dabbed on skin with cotton. Once dried after 15 minutes this blend should be rinsed with moderately cold water. This technique will prevent skin from absorbing harmful ultraviolet rays and acts as a natural shield for skin.
