Home Remedies to Baldness

March 20, 2009

Good hair is a sign of beauty. Although hair does not have much function in life yet the loss of hair always makes one anxious. We all strive for good hair. Hair loss is an inevitable phenomenon. On an average we lose 100 hairs a day. But hair loss at a greater rate may lead to baldness.

Causes

The most common cause of excessive hair loss and baldness is lack of vitamins. An unbalanced diet with the deficiency of Vitamin B and folic acid leads to hair loss and baldness. But sufficient intake of the two can again help grow new hair.

Remedies

Amla oil

Amla oil is the oldest and best remedy for hair oil. Daily massaging of the scalp with amla oil enriches fast hair growth. Using a mixture of fresh amla juice and lemon juice as a shampoo helps stop hair loss and promotes hair growth.

Spinach and Lettuce juice

Spinach juice is very good in promoting hair growth. Its rich vitamin and iron content compensates the lack of vitamin in the body. A mixture of spinach juice and lettuce juice must be consumed daily if hair loss is severe.

Amaranth

The juice of amaranth leaves should be massaged to the scalp and hair daily before going to bed to avoid hair loss. Amaranth also helps soften the hair.

Henna leaves and Mustard oil

A few leaves of henna boiled in a cup of mustard oil makes very good massage oil for the scalp. It strengthens the hair roots and makes the hair stronger and more manageable, thus preventing hair loss.

Coconut milk

Coconut milk is to be massaged to the scalp till it is entirely absorbed. Repeating the procedure daily ensures strong healthy hair in two months. One can also use hot coconut oil to get the same results but it takes longer time.

Onion

Rubbing of onion to the scalps till it turns red is also very effective. However, it gives a strange smell to the hair.

Margosa (neem) Leaves

The leaves of margosa plant are to be boiled in 2 litres of water till the water is reduced to half. Wash your hair with this water. Regular use of it ensures thick, long, dark hair. It also stops hair loss and prevents growth of lice.
