Home Remedies to Treat Blackheads

Blackheads are tiny black spots that one notices on one’s skin, especially during summer. They are wide opened follicles that occur due to the hyper-active sebaceous glands. The remains inside these follicles cause the black colour of the blackheads.

Causes

The main causes of blackheads are oily skin. Consumption of excessive oily or fatty substances also causes blackheads. Exposure to environmental pollution and improper diet can also cause blackheads.

Remedies

Home remedies are the best and most effective way to cure blackheads and pimples. However, there is no permanent cure to blackheads, and these are ways to check it and keep it under control.

Ground Radish seeds

Make a paste of ground radish seeds and a few drops of warm water and apply it on the areas of blackheads. Wash it off after 20-30 minutes. It is the best remedy for the problem.

Fenugreek leaves

Soak a few fenugreek leaves in water for at least 2-3 hours. Make a paste of these leaves and apply it on your face before going to bed. Wash it next morning with warm water. This not only reduces blackheads but also cures any other kind of blemishes on the skin.

Fenugreek seeds

Boil 1 tsp of fenugreek seeds in 1 litre of water till the water is reduced to half. Wipe your face using this water as frequently as you can. This cures blackheads effectively and also prevents drying of the skin.

Potato

Make a poultice of grated potato and apply it on the affected area. It not only cures blackheads but also reduces blemishes, pimples and wrinkles.

Pomegranate

Make a fine powder of pomegranate skin. Make a paste of it with 1/2 tsp of lemon juice and apply it on the affected area. It is a good cure to blackheads and other skin problems.

Drumstick

Ground drumstick pods and leaves and make a paste of it with fresh lime juice, and apply on blackhead and dark spots. It is an efficient and easy home remedy for blackheads.
